I am a fully qualified medical herbalist and aromatherapist. I also teach herbal medicine, diet and nutrition, and holistic massage.
Herbal medicine
I completed a full time four-year degree course leading to a B.Sc (Hons.) in Herbal Medicine at Middlesex University. I have been trained in the same diagnostic skills as orthodox doctors, but I take a more holistic approach to illness.
The degree course included extensive training to a high standard in the medical sciences: pathology, diagnostic skills, pharmacology and pharmacy, as well as botany, herbal therapeutics, nutrition and clinical skills.
I have also had two years of clinical training at the Archway Clinic of Herbal Medicine in the Whittington Hospital, North London. I now mentor newly qualified medical herbalists through their first year of practice.
As a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists, I am bound by a strict code of ethics. The Institute is the oldest and largest body of herbal practitioners in Britain, and was founded in 1864.
Aromatherapy massage
I have completed the I.T.E.C. training in body massage and aromatherapy as well as further courses in specific massage techniques including deep tissue massage, acupressure and advanced massage techniques. I also teach aromatherapy and body massage.
